Yes, I'm avoiding writing again...

Your Personality Is

Idealist (NF)

You are a passionate, caring, and unique person.
You are good at expressing yourself and sharing your ideals.

You are the most compassionate of all types and connect with others easily.
Your heart tends to rule you. You can't make decisions without considering feelings.

You seek out other empathetic people to befriend.
Truth and authenticity matters in your friendships.

In love, you give everything you have to relationships. You fall in love easily.

At work, you crave personal expression and meaning in your career.

With others, you communicate well. You can spend all night talking with someone.

As far as your looks go, you've likely taken the time to develop your own personal style.

On weekends, you like to be with others. Charity work is also a favorite pastime of yours.

I keep telling myself that I'm gonna wean myself off these things. They've become an 'avoid doing what I should be doing' drug. And the thing is, they've also made me realize that I use them as a booster of sorts for when I'm deep in deadline depression! Which can't be a good thing, can it???

This one made me feel quite good about myself. Mostly. Except maybe the bit about falling in love easily. HAHAHA! Not so much as it happens. But then, there is only me and my casting photos and my cat in the deadline cave...

The interpretation kinda depends on whether you're a glass half full/half empty kinda person I think. With blogthings and horoscopes I tend to read the good stuff and ignore the bad. Which would suggest I'm 'glass half full'. However. There are days I'm definately glass half empty. And then there are times; like deadline hell/fell flat on my face and hurt myself weeks (like this one) when I'm 'I don't even have a flipping glass, where's my glass, someone took my glass!' kinda gal...

So, what other ploys do writers use to avoid writing beyond making themselves insane with blogthings I wonder??? Or am I alone in my insanity???

D'oh! This will teach me to use the refresh button more often!

Top five things I use to avoid writing:

1) Read blogs/Surf online. This includes: updating blogs, scouring blogs, leaving messages on blogs, surfing the internet, shopping for shoes online, etc.

2) Eat. "I'll write better when I have a drink." "I'll write better after a peanut butter sandwich." "I'll write better after I bake a loaf of bread." And I never do.

3) Play piano. Part of me considers this constructive, since at least I'm doing SOMETHING creative. The other part thinks that's a load, because when I play, I rarely read music, since I never took the initiative to really learn how. (There's a separate list for Things I Did to Avoid Learning to Read Music)

4) Take a shower. On a given day, I take probably three or four showers. This usually sparks an idea of some sort which I can't write down, being in the shower and all.

5) Nap. It starts off with "I'm just going to relax and think about this" and turns into "Wait, how did it get dark outside?"

I think all writers are entitled to a certain amount of insanity, just like movie directors and Punk musicians and artists. But if it gets to the point where you're cutting off your own ear to keep from writing, maybe it's time to take a vacation!

Oh Ehle!!!!!! This made me lol so much!!!!

1) YEP thats me too...

2) Unfortunately another yep, apart from the bread bit cos that involves cooking and I try to avoid that as much as humanly possible...

3) I ever try that and the world will pay me to never try it again...

4) Something that a lot of people tell me I should probably do more often but my choics of poison would be a bath... oh yeah... til I look like a prune...

5) LOL I do this waaay too often... and have been known to do it during the day heaps as I write at night...

Its nice to know I'm not alone in my insanity though........... In a non- schitzophrenic kinda way...
