Sssshhhh I Think It's Falling Into Place.

Well, tomorrow's the day we pitch my friends. So think good thoughts for me, won't you? I've tentatively given it the working title of The Reluctant Billionaire - for now - and our heroine is Olivia Brannigan, our hero Blake Clayton... Locations are Manhattan, The Hamptons, with possible (small) appearances of places like Yonkers and Queens.

And what I'm gonna take as a good sign is the fact that over the weekend I found the perfect song for this story. You know me and lyrics and the right song. Lemme know what you think and remember to cross your fingers for me. I'll come back and let you know how I got on...

Like A Star by Corinne Bailey Rae

Just like a star across my sky
Just like an angel off the page
You have appeared to my life
Feel like I'll never be the same
Just like a song in my heart
Just like oil on my hands
Only to love you

Still I wonder why it is
I don't argue like this
With anyone but you
We do it all the time
Blowing out my mind

You've got this look I can't describe
You make me feel I'm alive
When everything else is so fake
Without a doubt you're on my side
Heaven has been away too long
Can't find the words to write this song
Oh...
Your love

Still I wonder why it is
I don't argue like this
With anyone but you
We do it all the time
Blowing out my mind

Now I have come to understand
The way it is
It's not a secret any more
'Cause we've been through that before
From tonight I know that you're the only one
I've been confused and in the dark
Now I understand

I wonder why it is
I don't argue like this
With anyone but you
I wonder why it is
I wont let my guard down
For anyone but you

We do it all the time

Blowing out my mind

Just like a star across my sky
Just like an angel off the page
You have appeared to my life
Feel like I'll never be the same
Just like a song in my heart
Just like oil on my hands

Good luck Trish, that song does resonate.

Oh, having seen the dark place you were last year, you might want to check out Russel T Davies book about writing the last series of Dr Who. In it there are a few instances when he faced that block... Its a fascinating read (especially for someone who was a passionate Doctor / Donna fan), about the writing process. Don't worry he doesn't do any formulas of how to write / structure / etc, its more a running email commentary on the kearnel of the idea through to the finished script. I think the acutal title is the 'writers tale'.
(no allegiance or anything to the book / writer, just a fan who found it an interesting read).

Trish, I hope your pitch went well! I've enjoyed reading your process and I'm heading out to a wifi spot for Internet access that will allow me to listen to the song! :-)

All the best!

All well and good that you're getting all excited here, but did you have to steal my man?????

If this is some kind of retribution for the "Nathan Fillion episode", well then...

Um. Why did I bring that up ;)?

Glad you liked it Trenda! I have it all loaded onto my ipod now ready to go, so I'll be listening to it lots ;)

And you didn't share it Bidster??? It is pretty fabulous isn't it? And keep those fingers crossed for me ;)

Thanks Ray-Anne and gosh I hope so! I've had some lovely emails to start the year and with this prop done I even think I've found a hero and heroine for my next Romance so I really REALLY hope that's the end of the dark days. Let's just say I'm not taking any chances with the Christmas decorations coming down too late this year ;)

Ohhhh Sue! Now that sounds like EXACTLY the kind of book I'd enjoy! *runs off to Amazon to look it up*... Do we like the new Doctor btw??? What do we think?

Hi Anna! I'm glad you enjoyed the process - it's really helped doing it this way and I'm feeling more like me again :) If I get the prop approved then I'll pop in and blog along the way as I write it too ;) Hope you found the wifi spot. I'm taking my mini teeny tiny laptop on it's first ever plane trip this week so I'll be hunting for Wifi spots in Liverpool if anyone knows where they are... (niece number one checking out a University for next year - exciting stuff!)

Ally Blake!!! In the words of Reeves and Mortimer - YOU JUST WOULDN'T LET IT LIE!!! *vbg* Let's just call this one even shall we - hmmmmmmm???
